Gestalt applied to web design (Part 2): the proximity principle

In the second article of the series, presenting the principle of proximity, very useful to know and effectively implement, in the work of day-to-day.

It was seen in the previous article that German researchers began to study the human visual perceptions, that is, relations between something being observed and the excitement that this "something" causes in which notes, resulting in the Gestalt theory.
From this study, some were deducted principle í ples - or "laws" as some prefer - that describe some interesting aspects and to this case, useful to know, about how human beings interpret what you see. In this series will not be seen all the principles, but those that are useful for the scope that is proposed: the development for Web.
The proximity principle basically says that when several items are close to each other, form a unit visual ú single, cohesive, and not appear more different. And more: this relationship which forms the "one" suggests that these elements are connected in some way.

This principle of proximity, it can be inferred that related elements to be grouped.
This is a very important information when it comes to development of layouts! Knowing that elements coming give the idea of unity and relationships, which are connected with each other, you can better plan the design of a web site, for example.
Using the principle of proximity, it is possible to give the organization a layout, is to make the experience of users, to visit a site, be pleasant and even pleasant. People feel good when things are organized, do not you? ;-)
